Orchard House Care Home

Orchard house has a very peaceful south facing garden, which is of good size and on a level to enable easy access to all areas of the garden. There is a large lawn area bordered by attractive flowerbeds and trees.

There is also a large patio area where during warmer weather there are plenty of tables and chairs and umbrellas to enable our clients to enjoy our garden at its best. The garden is completely secure so all our residents including those who may be forgetful or wander can feel safe. Our conservatory or sun lounge enables clients to enjoy the garden all year. Its bright and airy atmosphere can be enjoyed at any time as it is fully heated and furnished.

When entering Orchard House you will be welcomed into a beautiful hallway with large staircase. This hallway is also used as a seating area for clients if they wish. The staircase is fitted with a modern, easy to use, stair lift, which is serviced twice a year by Stannah.

Orchard House has a large lounge area, which leads into our sun lounge. The room is furnished to a high standard with plenty of seating in a variety of chairs to fit all requirements. The room contains a large screen television and music system as well as the homes library, which contains books to suit all tastes and also large print books.

The dining room is a large area looking out onto the garden, residents have a choice of a full varied menu, all special diets are catered for, cooked in traditional style and freshly prepared by our own catering staff. Clients have a choice whether to eat in the dining room or in their own room, however, we do encourage them to mix with other service users, there are plenty of tables and chairs so they can choose where to sit and with whom.

All of our bedrooms at Orchard House are single rooms, furnished and decorated to a high standard. Most rooms are en-suite, ones that aren't en-suite are equipped with washing facilities. All rooms are fitted with a lockable facility and thermostatically controlled heating that can be adjusted to suit the clients needs. For residents without toilet facilities in their rooms commodes are available as and when required. Clients are encouraged to bring along any pictures, pieces of furniture, or any other items that may make them feel at home. All bed linen, towels and face cloths are provided and laundered.
