T he Balmore is set in four acres of beautiful countryside, the gardens are of good size and on a level to enable easy access. There are large lawns bordered by attractive flower beds and trees. There is also a large patio area where during the warmer weather there are plenty of tables and chairs to enable our clients to enjoy the gardens at their best.
T he Balmore provides Nursing and Residential care of a high standard. The spacious home creates a peaceful and restful atmosphere for its residents. Within the home qualified nurses are on duty 24 hours a day and all our facilities are connected to a nurse call system.
O ur overall aim is to satisfy not only our clients physical needs but their psychological, social and spiritual needs. We have an activities co-ordinator, providing a variety of activities including mobilising therapy, music and movement programmes and craft sessions. We also provide a church service once a month.
T hese services are individually offered to each client and are altered accordingly to their needs and abilities. In addition hairdressing, chiropody, dental and an opticians service is provided.
A ll of our bedrooms at Balmore Country House are furnished and decorated to a high standard. All rooms are well proportioned. Some rooms have en-suite facilities, some are single and others are doubles. Single rooms and en-suite rooms are furnished with a minimum of a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet and table. All bedrooms are fitted with a lockable facility. Each room has thermostatically controlled heating that can be adjusted to suit the client. The en-suite bathrooms contain a bath, toilet and washbasin.
S ingle rooms have washing facilities in the room. Double rooms have washing facilities and furniture for 2 residents. For residents without toilet facilities in their rooms, commodes are available to use at night. Clients may bring with them to Balmore pieces of their own furniture and pictures along with any other items to make their room feel as homely as possible. All bed linen, towels and face cloths are provided and laundered.
C ommunal bathrooms and toilets are clearly marked and are situated along the main passageways upstairs and on the ground floor. The baths are suitable for the elderly who have difficulty getting in or out of a bath or those that need to feel more secure when bathing. All toilets have rails and some have raised seats to try and meet the needs of our clients. All our corridors have handrails and all our doors and corridors are wide enough for a wheelchair.
B almore Country House employs domestic staff who ensure that all rooms are cleaned each day and that bathrooms and toilet areas are cleaned at least once each day. The home is maintained by a full time gardener/handyman and the company employs a full time decorator/joiner.
A ll bedrooms have windows of which at least 1 will open, although those on the first floor may be restricted to how far they open due to safety reasons. The home is fitted with an up to date fire system provided by CHUBB systems. The system is also serviced by these. The home is monitored by CHUBB and the fire service automatically alerted in the event of the system being activated.
T he Balmore has several lounges which are comfortably furnished with television and music for residents to enjoy. All have beautiful views over the gardens. Dining areas provide a comfortable space for residents to enjoy our traditional cuisine prepared freshly each day by our kitchen staff. All diets are catered for.
